German Folk Kiss
The pendant on this design, which I
call Folk Kiss, was a treasured childhood
keepsake from the 1930's. It is a Casein
(or Galalith: milk protein) plastic brooch and was the inspiration for
the beaded design. It has been transformed
into a bohemian necklace using the following components.
Materials Used ~
- Vintage glass tube beads
- Vintage lacquered wooden beads
- Vintage red glass beads
- Vintage carved bone bird beads
- Bronze tone seed bead spacers
- Molded plastic rosette beads
- Vintage plastic button for the
loop closure
- Sterling silver handcrafted ear
wires
The client was thrilled to be able to
wear the former brooch, which had a broken
pin back, once again with new coordinating
earrings!
